Family Getaway!

I am so excited because we have booked our first proper family holiday in two years. We’re going back to a fabulous resort in Guia De Isora, Tenerife. We first went when our eldest son was only eleven months and then again when he was three, its perfect! Traveling with babies and young children can be quite stressful. Particularly when you need things like a cot, steriliser or high chair. Also its quite hard to find somewhere that accommodates children and their needs, whilst still offering adults a relaxing, luxurious retreat.

Sensatori Tenerife offers all of that and hence the reason we are returning for a third time! In all honesty, I’m not a massive fan of resort package holidays and pre children we used to holiday all over the world staying in boutique hotels and locations full of interesting history or culture. However holidaying with a five year old and baby changes your requirements. Its about finding somewhere that has all the facilities we need, without us having to worry. A place that welcomes a grizzly baby and hyper child and allows us time to relax a little and recharge!

We always book this hotel through Thomson, as they have Mothercare items that you can include as part of your holiday package. We have booked a cot for the baby and steriliser, but you can also select a buggy and high chair.

The hotel is spacious, luxurious, well laid out and beautifully maintained. We love the stunning 260m infinity swimming pool with whirlpools, jets and a beach section, making it perfect for little ones to paddle in. There are a further four pools to explore, dotted around the resort. There are loads of sunbeds, so no need to get up at the crack of dawn to bag the best spot, balinese style daybeds, hammocks and the all important pool concierge, bliss!

There are a choice of restaurants including Spanish, Mediterranean, Italian and Japanese and a global buffet style restaurant as an alternative, making meal times easy and offering plenty of variety. One of my favorite parts is the club ocean bar, over looking the impressive pool and beyond out to sea. They have a DJ playing classic club chill out tunes whilst the sun goes down. Its like having a taste of my twentys whilst holidaying with my kids!

Back to them, during the day, as well as the pirate themed pool, there are kids clubs and day care facilities. Then every evening there is a fantastic kids show in the theater. Last time we went, we made friends with two lovely couples that had children of the same age. It really made the holiday even more fun for all. I just can’t wait to get back there!
