A day out the weather can’t spoil!

Yesterday I got together with my brother and sister, their partners and children. A group of five adults and five boys aged 6 months to 5 years.

With the weather being a little unpredictable, we wanted to take our boys somewhere that would be enjoyable and not effected by the British Summer!

On the edge of Stratford Upon Avon, is Stratford garden centre and the recently opened ‘Jungle Town‘.

As an alternative to indoor soft play, Jungle Town offers something a little different. A new and innovative play experience where your child’s imagination can run wild!

They have created a child-sized town with many of the shops and services children will interact with in real life.

They can explore through Jungle Town the world around them, through role play, developing an understanding of their real world. This place is fabulous! It’s a wonderful idea and so much fun.

It was great to sit back and watch my son and nephews move through the rooms. It was interesting and hilarious to witness.

One of my nephews spent some time on the phone and then stood looking at himself in the mirror using the play hairdryer and comb to style his hair. Before heading over to the construction site to stack colourful bricks!

One of our boys spent quite a lot of his time in the school, looking at a map of the world and playing with numbers.

There was an interesting moment when one of our boys walked over cradling a doll, only to have it snatched back by a rather angry princess, proclaiming, ‘That’s my baby!’

Meanwhile over in the house, tea was being served by superman who had hung up his cape, because apparently he always hangs up his cape to make tea!  I loved witnessing the slight tension at the supermarket, where Superman was arguing with batman at the checkout, because Spider-Man was putting his shopping in a wheelbarrow.

Our session ended with a superhero car chase!

After an hour and a half of imaginative play, we went over to 1950’s style icecream parlour, for yummy milkshakes. Before heading home we went to find Nemo in the aquatic centre. My baby boy, Lorne, loved watching the fish, he was mesmerised!

For a fun family afternoon this summer holiday, I highly recommend a trip to Stratford garden centre, Clifford Chambers.
