Baby Names 2015

I’m somewhat slightly obsessed with baby names! I searched for ages trying to find unique names that I liked. I wanted authentic names, that were old, rare and had a meaning or origin. We also wanted Scottish names to go with their surname and in memory of their Scottish Grandad, David.

I am one of those people that does consider the impact a name has, as a first impression on a CV for example. I think our boys have got strong, unique names, that will serve them well, whatever path they choose.

Monroe William

Monroe, pronounced mun-ROH

Origin: Scottish and the meaning of Monroe is “mouth of the river“. A Munro is a Scottish term for any mountain more than 3,000 feet tall

Famous: Monroe Jackson Rathbone V (goes by Jackson), male actor famous for playing the character Jasper Whitlock from the “Twilight” films

Nicknames & Variations for Monroe: Monro, Munro, Munroe, Roe

Lorne Atticus

Lorne, pronounced lorn.

Origin: Scottish and is a place name

Famous: Most well known is the actor Lorne Greene from Bonanza and Battle Star Galactica.

Atticus, pronounced AT-a-kuss and is the name of Scout’s father in Harper Lee’s novel “To Kill a Mockingbird”.

I know my name choices aren’t to everyones taste, but they suit my boys. If you are looking for baby name inspiration or want to see whats popular in 2015, then check out this years review.
