Baby Autumn / Winter Fashion
Lorne is now eight months old and has grown out of all his clothes. I’ve not had to buy him a huge amount so far, what with all the gifts we received when he was born and my fave little outfits i’d kept from when Monroe was a baby. But, I seem to have a gap in clothing aged 9-12 months.
So that means, I need to shop!! Whoop whoop!
Autumn is my favourite time of year, as a season and in fashion. I love cosy layers and autumnal tones.
As I’ve mentioned in previous posts, I’m a bit addicted to Instagram and from that I’ve found out about a whole industry of small independent businesses, manufacturing their own collection of children’s wear. A lot are set up by multitasking mums, hand making garments, footwear or accessories, marketing their small business through Instagram and selling through etsy or ecommerce sites.
There are so many fabulous indy companies across the world, selling some fabulous things, you could get carried away!! Err, well, you might say I have!
Mainly I’ve chosen to support UK businesses and buy their products, but I’ve also chosen a few pieces from further a field that I love and have also added in a few bits from some larger stores available online.
Below are some of my recent purchases that make up Lornes new Autumn / Winter wardrobe and details of where I got them from. Along with my ever increasing wish list! There are some seriously awesome mama’s out there, designing and creating some amazing kids clothing and accessories!
I love this ‘Cool Kid’ sweatshirt from H&M, its a great cinamon brown and goes with loads of things! It looks great with a little pair of jeans, like i’ve put together in this flatlay and a pair of faux fur booties. It also looks fab with these foxy face leggings from Zara teamed with a pair of my fave leather moccassins from Amy & Ivor.
I’ve also ordered and am waiting for this cute foxy jumper to arrive from La Redoute, its great for winter and will mix and match nicely with his different leggings.
One of my fave Instagram companies is Fred and Noah, handmade in the UK, they sell an awesome collection of leggings, tops and bandanas. The monster print leggings I ordered have just arrived, so Lorne will be wearing them this week. I’ve got the feather print on my wish list, because I love the print design. I’m also debating buying a Christmas top from them, they’ve just released their Christmas designs and the monochrome geometric santa is fab, I wish they made it in my size!
Another item on my wish list for my little monster, is the ‘Little’ tee from Tobias and the bear. This instagram find has a fabulous online boutique selling some adorable print tops, leggings and bedding. I’m could seriously buy it all, in fact, i’ll share another fave item from them in a minute!
The oh so cute ‘Raaaa’ sweatshirt is from Jaxon James, I have filled a virtual shopping basket multiple times when browsing this online boutique. Both of my boys would love so many things. As well as the clothes they sell bedding and accessories and having just transformed Monroe’s bedroom in to a superhero cave, there are some perfect accessories to complete his room.
Finally in this little collection of images, you’ll see Lorne modeling a super cute grey pom beanie from Birdies and Bearcubs. It fits him well now with a little turn up, but will last him for years. I bought Monroe one in black too! Love them and when the boys aren’t wearing them, I will, hehe!
I’m a huge fan of Amy and Ivor moccassins. They are made in the UK, by a lovely small team and they totally outshine all others in my eyes. The collection of colours that these leather moccassins are made in, are so cool, I just wish they’d make them in my size. The leather they use is beautiful and soft and the quality and finish is supreme. We’re waiting for a new pair in cinnamon to arrive.
I couldn’t resist these gorgeous leggings from Sweet Petite Kids, I just love the polar bear print. They’ll look great with the cinnamon mocs and this plain black sweatshirt from H&M.
More from Tobias and the bear, I love these ‘Oakey’ leggings, they’re perfect for Autumn/Winter.
Finally just because Lorne looks so darn cute in a hat, I’ve bought him a black beanie from Beau Hudson. Perfect for keeping his little head warm when doing the school run with his big brother!
Monochrome, geometric, the odd polar bear and superhero slogans… I think that sums up my final little collection. The leggings are available from Fox Felts, the ‘Zap’ tee and polar bear top are from Rock It Tots and the stripe and bandit long sleeve tee’s are from H&M.
If you haven’t before shopped on Instagram, then the best way to find these and more fantastic indie businesses, is to search using #ukmade #handmadeinuk #toddlerleggings #monochrome #organic
But, don’t blame me, if you too become addicted!
