… an introduction into my world
I’m Danni, a thirty something mother of two, living in the Cotswolds. I grew up in Warwickshire, moved to Birmingham when I was 16 to go to college and then moved to London to go to University. I wanted to be a dancer, but during my university course realized it wasn’t going to be the career for me, so I moved into the fitness industry…
… Where I met my Mr. We got married in 2006 and two years later decided to leave central London and headed to the Cotswolds to start a family. Sadly the next chapter of our life didn’t go as we hoped and we have been on a journey trying to conceive, which is a story I have shared in my blog.
We feel so lucky and are delighted to now have our two gorgeous boys. Monroe William was born in May 2010 and Lorne Atticus was born in January 2015. Both were given Scottish names in memory of their Grandad.
After having Monroe, I decided to set up my own business and move into the wedding industry. I opened my own bridal boutique in 2011 and I loved it. I had a gorgeous shop, met so many lovely brides along with their friends and family. My boutique was full of gowns and accessories by top British designers and I worked alongside some amazingly talented and creative industry suppliers. Then on 29th December 2013 a fire broke out in the flat above my shop. They struggled to get it under control and by the time they did, it had taken the roof off, destroyed the flat and my beautiful shop. I was gutted! I set up a temporary showroom so I could finish looking after all of my brides getting married 2014, but sadly it took them so long to repair the building, I was unable to trade and eventually had to close my business at the beginning of 2015.
So I’m now starting a new chapter. I’m learning how to be a school mum and trying to remember how to look after a baby. Throw in a dog and we have a fairly busy, ordinary life!
Bramley Road Girl is my story and you can read about the meaning behind its name here. I hope you enjoy the tales of my life and join me on the journey. I love to hear from people that connect with what i’ve written, so leave feedback, I love to chat!
